Gold In Heaven

Hey, y'all, it's the mod. Hope everyone's doing okay. Anyway, I have a question for the readers and contributors alike: have any of you ever had any experiences with angels, whether it be your guardian angel or another kind? I'm very curious to know.

I've had several experiences myself with my own guardian angel. Once, when I was 11, he saved me from drowning. A few years later when I was in high school, he spoke to me and I audibly heard his voice. And more recently, sometime last year during a time of complete fear and trauma, he whispered to me, "It's okay," and kissed me on the cheek. And probably one of my favorite encounters with him happened very recently as well: this also took place during a time of complete fear, this time for other reasons, though. I was lying awake in my bed and these spirits began to enter my room. I don't know what kind of spirits they were or how to explain it to you all other than how I saw it. They were like, actual little light orbs that entered through the window and I could see them on the walls moving about. I saw recently on a show that I was watching about someone's true account with spirits that this person had a similar experience with these "light spirits" entering their home through the window. And they were menacing spirits as well, just like the ones that came to me. Anyway, I also felt other menacing presences with me, and some things happened. I was just filled with so much fear and I was helpless because I couldn't move. But then, I felt this other presence enter my room, and it was a good one. I felt it standing a few feet away from me, and then I heard it say, "King." This presence then flew over me and stood behind my bed-- when that happened, I saw a FEATHER fall down onto me, and I knew then that it was my angel. And when he said "king," he meant, "I come in the name of the King [God]." Isn't that just so cool?! :-) I just think it's great, because I can always know that someone will be here to protect me and comfort me.

So now I ask you, what are your experiences with angels? You may respond by posting a comment to this entry or by posting a separate entry in this community. (And if you are having trouble posting here, leave me a comment.)

Anyway, have a good one, everybody! :-)

I always joke that my guardian angel must be afraid of my Nana, because he/she has never made contact.

I was in church one day when I was aware of a figure very like a Renaissance or PreRaphaelite angel at the end of my pew. There was no communication and it seemed rude to attempt any when he was plainly enjoying the hymn.

When I was going on holiday and leaving my 90 something year old boss to run the shop alone, I asked the angel of Oxford to watch over her and the business. I felt a vague sort of agreement and thanked the angel on my return.

Apart from that, nothing angelic (unless you count devas). I don't think I am attuned to the angel realms. I think I am probably not a good enough person. Or maybe it's because angels make me uncomfortable. A friend of mine once said she prayed to angels because she felt Jesus must always be busy. With me it's the opposite. I don't want to call any angel away from something important, so I pray direct to God, who is never more busy than he can handle. I'm aware that that's completely illogical.

That's very interesting that you haven't actually had many experiences with angels. My mom has had numerous experiences-- one saved her life when she was pregnant with me; she has been helped by other angels; and messenger angels have appeared to her to tell her something God wanted her to know. And once when my youngest sister was 11, she said she happened to look back when she was walking in our house, and she saw her guardian angel. She said it was about her height and saw wings-- it's actual body was changing colors, and she said its face was smiling and its eyes were closed. And my sister told me that she knew that was God's way of letting her she would never be alone. I just think it's so sweet. And I don't know, maybe some people and families are just more attuned to angels as you alluded.

And you mentioned something called devas. What are those?

I just recently found out that you can pray to angels and talk to them and ask for their guidance and stuff. The idea fascinates me, and I might try it myself, but I would feel more comfortable going to God about my concerns. I don't think your thoughts on praying to God instead of angels is illogical at all. :-)
