Angels and Spirit Guides [May. 28th, 2008|09:20 am]

Hi guys! It's not been active here lately. We need more members! :-)

Anyway, I come to you all with a question today: how can you tell if a spirit you encounter in a dream is an angel or a spirit guide? Because I met one of my spirit guides this morning in a dream-- her name is Sandy. But she was so sweet and her demeanor so pleasant, almost angelic. It made me wonder if she could really be an angel!

And another thing: are spirit guides the spirits of people who were once alive? Or are they just people in their astral forms? I don't know much about spirit guides (obviously, heh!)

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone,

This is my first post to the community, and while it did not happen to me, it happened to my mother, and the circumstances surrounding the incident have led me to believe that a benevolent presence is watching over her.  About 8 years ago, my mother had been feeling ill for quite a few months--I'm talking chronic lethargy, a severe head and neck pain that defied diagnosis, general malaise, just awful symptoms. Matters came to a head one morning when she was at work and her vision suddenly failed her, what she described as having wax paper over her eyes. Luckily, the school nurse had the presence of mind to check her glucose levels (which none of her physicians thought to do all those months before), and lo and behold, it was off the charts (around 600 or so)--turns out she was in one of the latter stages of ketoacitosis or diabetic shock (I'm about 80% sure this is the right term), and the next stop was coma and death.  She was immediately driven to a hospital in the next largest city from my hometown, and after having to wait for nearly 5 hours for a bed/room, was finally admitted so tests/treatment could be administered.  The attending physician told her that it would be weeks if not months before she regained her vision, if at all--the prolonged misdiagnosis was bound to have caused some sort of lasting effects, and needless to say she was devastated.  To make matters worse, I had to stay behind at home because I was still going to high school, and my dad was out of town, so she was effectively alone during her stay.  She told me that after a restless night, a priest stopped by around midmorning during what she assumed were his daily rounds, and asked if she would like to pray with him. Being raised a Catholic, she agreed, and she later told me that he was an elderly gentleman, with a slight, slim build, blue eyes, and tanned skin with white hair. For some reason, she "knew" that he was of Irish descent.  After praying, he annointed her forehead with holy oil and then he left.  Hours later when her physician came to check on her, she told him she was ready to go home, because she could see just fine. Naturally, he didn't believe her, and when he tested her vision, found that she could easily read not only the vision chart, but signs on buildings across the street from her room's window! She casually remarked that maybe it was the old priest and his prayers that did the trick, and the doctor gave her a funny look, stating that there were no priests scheduled to make the rounds that day, nor did the hospital have any in their employ! He didn't believe her story, but the oil on her forehead was proof enough to her that it did happen. The identity of the man is a mystery, but what is even more amazing, is that she was able to give a description of him before they started praying together: Medically, she was blind, and couldn't even see enough to walk on her own, so how was this possible?

Question [Mar. 25th, 2008|04:56 am]

Hey, y'all, it's the mod. Hope everyone's doing okay. Anyway, I have a question for the readers and contributors alike: have any of you ever had any experiences with angels, whether it be your guardian angel or another kind? I'm very curious to know.

I've had several experiences myself with my own guardian angel. Once, when I was 11, he saved me from drowning. A few years later when I was in high school, he spoke to me and I audibly heard his voice. And more recently, sometime last year during a time of complete fear and trauma, he whispered to me, "It's okay," and kissed me on the cheek. And probably one of my favorite encounters with him happened very recently as well: this also took place during a time of complete fear, this time for other reasons, though. I was lying awake in my bed and these spirits began to enter my room. I don't know what kind of spirits they were or how to explain it to you all other than how I saw it. They were like, actual little light orbs that entered through the window and I could see them on the walls moving about. I saw recently on a show that I was watching about someone's true account with spirits that this person had a similar experience with these "light spirits" entering their home through the window. And they were menacing spirits as well, just like the ones that came to me. Anyway, I also felt other menacing presences with me, and some things happened. I was just filled with so much fear and I was helpless because I couldn't move. But then, I felt this other presence enter my room, and it was a good one. I felt it standing a few feet away from me, and then I heard it say, "King." This presence then flew over me and stood behind my bed-- when that happened, I saw a FEATHER fall down onto me, and I knew then that it was my angel. And when he said "king," he meant, "I come in the name of the King [God]." Isn't that just so cool?! :-) I just think it's great, because I can always know that someone will be here to protect me and comfort me.

So now I ask you, what are your experiences with angels? You may respond by posting a comment to this entry or by posting a separate entry in this community. (And if you are having trouble posting here, leave me a comment.)

Anyway, have a good one, everybody! :-)

Lots of spirits around [Mar. 19th, 2008|10:22 am]

I am attracting spirits right now, probably because of the energies of the equinox. Things always happen between now and Beltane for me (1st May is the anniversary of my initiation as a druid and the time when I make a deeper commitment to the path). Add the waxing moon and the fact that I both live and work in places of power and it's not surprising that spirits are turning up.

I'm Helen, a Christian druid from Oxfordshire, England. Since the death of my great grandmother in 1991, I have had a lot of experience of spirits of the dead and nature spirits. My great grandmother is a frequent visitor, and she often helps me to communicate with other spirits. She is fiercely protective, as she was in life, and once drove off another spirit simply because he was "disrespectful" in the way he spoke to me.

Hi, everyone! It's the mod. I just want to welcome everyone who's joined so far, and I'd also like to tell you to feel free to make an introduction post. I'll go ahead and make mine now!

Well, I'm a 22-year-old young woman from Georgia, originally, but I've now lived in Illinois for five years. My family moved to Decatur, IL, which is the most haunted town in Illinois (and the Mid-west, if I remember correctly.) Anyway, my experiences with spirits started back when I was 16. At school, one of my friends told me that if you take a necklace and a piece of paper that you have written yes, no, and maybe on, you can talk to a spirit. I was highly intrigued and knew it was something I would feel good about doing, so one day I went home, grabbed my crescent moon pendant, got some paper and a pen, and started, well, doing it. I remember asking the entity some really stupid questions about my friends and stuff, but the one thing I asked it that made me run out of my room in fear was this: "Are you a demon?" It said YES. That scared me to death, because I had never had any type of close contact with any spirits.

After that, I could feel the demon hovering over me wherever I went. It felt like a burden. I was scared and disturbed, and it finally got so bad that I told my parents about it. Well, my mom told me that she wasn't surprised when I told her what I had done, because she said that when I was a baby, she had a spiritual dream. In this dream, she was visiting her grandmother at her apartment. They were talking, and suddenly, her grandmother said, "Wait. I have a gift for your daughter." She went back into her room to get this gift, and when she came back out, she was holding a OUIJA BOARD. So, basically, my mom knew that this thing with me and spirits was something that was passed on to me spiritually, a generational thing, and that it was something I was going to have to deal with in life.

Well, since then, I have had numerous experiences with demons, some being that I have just talked to some using a necklace as a pendulum, others being that I have been tormented by some. Somehow, though, I've dealt mostly with torment, but I will save those stories for another entry.

I do, however, really like ghosts, and the first time I was ever approached by a ghost was this past August. It was the spirit of a little girl, and she wanted my help. I will save that for another post, though.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope to hear about you all's experiences soon. And please, do not be afraid to express yourself. I want this to be a safe place where everyone can feel comfortable talking about things, even if your background or beliefs are not the "conventional." Have a good one, and happy posting! :-)
